Food Program
AniMeals Deliveries
1. Substitute drivers needed to cover routes for drivers who are on vacation or for some other reason are unable to deliver their route. This is done between the 7th and 14th of each month and could be in the following areas: Marion, Hiawatha or any quadrant of Cedar Rapids. Time varies from about a 1/2 hour to an hour per route. If interested please specify if you are interested in all delivery areas or a specific area. This is done on an as needed basis.
Incoming Donations
1. We are looking for someone to pick up incoming donations from various places M-F from 8-5 in Cedar Rapids, Marion or Hiawatha on an as needed basis. You would pick up the donations, take them to our storage facility, inventory them and put them away in the appropriate location.
2. We are looking for individuals to pick up large donations in Davenport, Ft. Dodge and possibly Clinton on an as needed basis M-F between 8 and 5. This would require driving a 16′ to 26′ rental truck. You would also need to be able to help unload the truck with other volunteers. We typically pick up large donations 2-4 times a year.
Spay/Neuter Program
Transporting Pets
1. We are looking for someone to transport up to 10 cats to a veterinarian. Drive is approximately 1 hour each way. This is done M-TH and cats must be at the Veterinarian Clinic between 7:00am and 9:45am. This may involve picking cats up from all of the clients or may involve several volunteers picking cats up and meeting you at a central location to give the cats to you for transport. It would also involve collecting some paperwork from the client. This is done no more than once a month and sometimes done every other month.
2. We are looking for someone to pick up to 10 cats up after their surgery. Drive is approximately 1 hour each way. This is done Wed. or Thurs between 7:00am and 9:45am or on Friday between 7:00am and 4:00pm. This may involve taking all of the cats back to their homes or may involve several volunteers meeting you in a central location and each volunteer taking a few cats home. It would also involve giving the client some discharge paperwork. This is done no more than once a month and sometime done every other month.
3. We are looking for someone to transport several cats or possibly several small dogs in carriers to a veterinarian which is approximately a 1/2 hour drive each way. Pets must be at the veterinarian clinic M-F between 6:30am and 7:00am. This may involve picking pets up from all of the clients or may involve several volunteers picking pets up and meeting you at a central location to give the pets to you for transport. It would also involve collecting some paperwork from the client. This is done on an as needed basis probably a few times a year.
4. We are looking for someone to pick up several cats or possibly several small dogs in carriers from a veterinarian which is approximately a 1/2 hour drive each way. Pets must be picked up M-F between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. This may involve taking all of the pets back to their homes or may involve several volunteers meeting you in a central location and each volunteer taking a few pets home. It would also involve giving the client some discharge paperwork. This is done on an as needed basis probably a few times a year.
5. We are looking for someone to transport a pet and possibly their owner to a veterinarian in Marion. This is typically done on Thursdays. Pet must be at the veterinarian between 8:30am and 9:00am.
6. We are looking for someone to pick up our client and take them to a veterinarian in Marion to pick up their pet. Pick up is typically Thursday and is between 4:15pm and 4:45pm.
Cleaning
1. Help needed cleaning carriers. This would be done on an as needed basis typically not more than once per month and usually involves around 10 carriers.
Fund Raising
1. Individuals needed to help plan fund raising and marketing events.
2. Individuals needed to work at fund raising and marketing events.
3. Individuals needed to help advertise our events. This would include taking posters to area businesses and hanging posters on bulletin boards.
