CRAnimeals Needs Food Baggers

July 22, 2010

URGENT – Bagging Team Members Needed
Baggers are volunteers who proportion dry dog or cat food into plastic baggies.
Flexible time.  You may come to bag at our facility at your convenience.  There are no minimum or maximum hours required from volunteers to provide this service.  Groups and couples can come work together.  There is plenty of room.   We only ask that you are committed to helping every month.

The bagging process starts by measuring 12 cups of dry cat or dog food from a big can filled with food into a Ziploc bag.  You would then seal the Ziploc and that is it!  We have over 3,000 pounds of food that needs to be bagged every month in order to be distributed to our clients. Food needs to be bagged every month between the 7th and the 25th so the time frame is very flexible.

A tour of our facility and a short training will be provided.
Please email heidi@cranimeals.org if you’d like to join our bagging team.  We’re looking for 5-10 committed individuals!

Hamburger Mary’s Charity Bingo was a success!

April 8, 2010

Thanks to all of you who were able to attend the Hamburger Mary’s Charity Bingo event for AniMeals Monday night. It was a huge success and a fun time had by all.  $670.00 was raised for AniMeals.    I want to thank everyone for posting flyers and telling family and friends about the event.  Hamburger Mary’s commented that they could tell we had really done a good job advertising based on the number of people in attendance.   Also, thanks to everyone who volunteered at the event and to those of you who helped with the Bingo prizes.   Thanks for making this event a huge success!   Kandi

A NEW LAW FOR ANIMALS!!
Spire hutch with number
Dear ,
In January we’ll be supporting another attempt to get a law for better oversight of Iowa’s puppy mills!!
I’LL NEED YOUR HELP TO GET THIS DONE!!
I’ll be calling upon you to contact your state senator and representative to let them know how important animal welfare is to you. Our website will help make this easy; providing legislators’ email addresses and sample language.
BUT RIGHT NOW I NEED YOU TO DO SOMETHING VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!! AND IT’LL ONLY TAKE A MINUTE!
Please go to our website, www.iowavca.org, and signup using the Join Us window. You’ll receive a message stating that you’re already a member and you’ll be asked to reenter your email address. Please do this.

Then you’ll receive an email from the website asking you to indicate your “Interests”. In our case, the ‘interests’ are legislators.
You must indicate one senator and one representative. If you don’t know who your STATE senator and representative are there’s a link to a site where you can find out. (state legislators are toward bottom of list)

PLEASE PLEASE TAKE ONE AND A HALF MINUTES TO DO THIS! IF WE’RE GOING TO GET ANYTHING DONE TO HELP THESE DOGS I NEED YOU TO DO THIS!
Contact me with questions. Thanks!!
